Serge Sanchez is a Mexican-American artist working across painting, photography, installation, and performance. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he filters street-level urgency through studio experimentation, often recycling fragments of older works to question memory, place, and belonging. His solo exhibitions include Lingered Memories at Last Projects, Los Angeles (2019); Left Uncertain… at James Black Gallery, Vancouver (2018); Yours Truly at The Ou Gallery, Duncan BC (2018); alongside group shows across the United States, Canada, and Germany. Sanchez has held residencies at Culterim Gallery and SomoS (Berlin, 2022 & 2021), Residency Unlimited (Brooklyn, 2019), James Black Gallery (Vancouver, 2018), and The Ou Gallery (Vancouver, 2018). Beyond the gallery, his imagery appears on LEYA’s album Flood Dream (2020), Eartheater & LEYA’s Angel Lust EP (2018), and the poster for the feature film Girl on the Third Floor (2019).
